The Amaryllis 'Apple Blossom', 'Hippeastrum', produces large, lovely white flowers with a pink blush and the flowers are fragrant. Amaryllis are great for cut flowers and they also can be grown indoors. This plant is resistant to deer. Of all flowering bulbs, amaryllis are the easiest to bring to bloom. The planting period extends from October to April and the flowering period lasts for 7 to 8 weeks. Amaryllis can be grown outdoors in frost free areas. They also can be grown in colder regions. In cold regions, pull up the bulbs before winter, and store them until spring.
