The crunchy leaves, creamy heart, and the vigorous growth are just a few words that describe Parris Island Romaine. Parris Island is 8 to 12 inches tall with upright, dark green leaves that are slightly crinkled. They will grow in light shade. Lettuce grows well near cabbage, beets, carrots, chives, garlic, and onion.
